Welcome to Building Little Brains!

Have you ever wondered if your child’s playtime is helping them grow and learn in the best way possible? As parents, we all want to support our children’s development, but finding the right activities and understanding how their brains grow can feel overwhelming. That’s where Building Little Brains comes in.

Who We Are

We are Bailey and Kelsi, the duo behind Building Little Brains! With seven kids between our families, ranging from 2 to 8-years-old, we understand the joys and challenges of balancing fun and learning. This passion project grew from our personal experiences and the work we were already doing with our own kids to help them reach their fullest potential! Kelsi, a pediatric occupational therapist, ensures every activity and piece of advice we share is backed by science and developmental expertise. Bailey, our creative designer, brings fun, imagination, and a sense of adventure to everything we do, making sure that learning through play feels exciting and engaging. Together, we’re here to guide you in nurturing your child’s growth while having fun every step of the way.

Why We Started Building Little Brains

As moms ourselves, we know how busy life can be. Between juggling work, kids, and endless to-do lists, finding time to create meaningful learning experiences can feel impossible.

That’s why we created Building Little Brains:

  • To take the guesswork out of brain-building play.

  • To offer activities that are fun, easy to set up, and rooted in child development research.

  • To help parents nurture their children’s skills with less stress and more connection.

Our story is personal. With backgrounds in pediatric occupational therapy and creative design—and experience raising both neurotypical and neurodiverse children—we combined our expertise and passion to create something truly impactful. Every activity, blog post, and product we share is designed with your child’s development in mind.

What Are Little Brain Boxes?

The Little Brain Box is a monthly subscription box filled with expertly curated activities designed to make learning fun and easy for parents and kids. Each box focuses on a key area of development, like sensory play, fine motor skills, or early literacy.

Why parents love them:

  • Convenience: No need to search for ideas or supplies—almost everything is included!

  • Evidence-Based: Activities are backed by science and thoughtfully created to support brain development.

  • Fun and Engaging: Kids love the creative, hands-on experiences packed in every box.

Each box also includes Brain Boost Tips, offering OT-approved ideas to extend the learning experience.

Why This Matters

Research shows that the brain develops from the bottom up, with sensory and motor skills forming the foundation for higher-level abilities like critical thinking and emotional regulation. Every moment of play is an opportunity to support your child’s growth, and we’re here to help make those moments count.

Whether it’s exploring textures with sensory bins, strengthening little fingers with fine motor games, or building confidence through hands-on STEM challenges, our mission is to make learning effortless and fun—for both you and your child.

Let’s Build Little Brains Together
